Malaysia Exhibition & Event Calendar: Every Regular Event Worth Knowing
If you exhibit in Malaysia, you already know the feeling: something comes up in the next few months, someone from your team asks "are there any upcoming events we should be at?", and you end up piecing together an answer from five different websites, a few WhatsApp groups, and a half-remembered conversation from last year's show.
This page exists to fix that. It is a running reference of the regular exhibitions, trade fairs, consumer expos, and industry events held in Malaysia every year — from the flagship international shows at KLCC and MITEC down to the hotel ballroom expos, state-level roadshows, and specialist niche events that most people only hear about through industry contacts.
The events below recur annually or more frequently. Dates shift slightly year to year, so treat the months as the reliable signal and always verify exact dates with the official organiser before confirming your participation.
How to Use This Page
The events are grouped by category — trade and B2B, consumer and lifestyle, property, travel, food and hospitality, technology, and specialist sectors — then by typical month of year. Use the category you exhibit in as your starting point, then look across categories for cross-sector opportunities that match your audience.
At the end of each category, there is a note on smaller and regional events — the hotel ballroom shows, mall-based expos, and state-level fairs that do not always make the national press but consistently produce good exhibitor results.

These are the anchor events for Malaysian B2B exhibitors. Most recur on the same annual or biennial cycle and attract buyers, distributors, trade media, and industry professionals.

Regional and State-Level Events
Not every valuable exhibition in Malaysia happens at KLCC or MITEC. A substantial calendar of events runs throughout the year at state-level convention centres, hotel ballrooms, and shopping mall atriums — and these often represent better value-for-investment for exhibitors targeting specific regions.
Key regional venues to watch:
-
Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC) — active calendar covering MATTA, business events, and consumer fairs
-
Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Penang — growing events hub for Northern Malaysia
-
Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) — Sarawak's anchor events venue, runs MATTA and Borneo Expo
-
Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu — Sabah SME Fest, Kota Kinabalu International Book Fair, Sabah Agro Expo, Sabah International Beauty Expo, and the full MATTA Sabah schedule
-
Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC) — MATTA Perak (twice yearly), business and property events
-
Austin International Convention Centre (AICC), Johor Bahru — MATTA Johor and consumer expos

Palm Mall Seremban — MAPEX Negeri Sembilan and MATTA Negeri Sembilan circuit stop

East Coast Mall, Kuantan — Pahang events including MAPEX and MATTA
-
MAEPS Serdang — Malaysia's agricultural exhibition ground; Pakar Pertanian Expo and agricultural events
-
Mid Valley Southkey, Johor — KLPJ Wedding Fair Johor edition, consumer and lifestyle events
Hotel Ballroom and Mall Atrium Events
These are the most overlooked category on the Malaysian exhibition calendar. They are small by floor size but consistent in attendance and well-suited for exhibitors who need maximum geographic coverage with a compact, portable display.
Wedding and lifestyle fairs run through hotel grand ballrooms at Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, and Hyatt properties throughout the year — particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kota Kinabalu. These are mostly privately organised by event companies rather than associations, and are typically announced three to six weeks before they happen. Follow local event aggregators like Expolah, Ticket2U, and Eventbrite Malaysia to catch these early.
Mall atrium expos — pop-up brand showcases, property fairs, consumer health expos, and seasonal product fairs — are a near-weekly occurrence at major shopping centres including Mid Valley, Pavilion, 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid, IOI City Mall, Aeon Mall, and their regional equivalents. These are low-cost, high-footfall opportunities particularly well-suited to direct consumer brands, new product launches, and service demonstrations.
State-level government and association events — organised by state economic development corporations, REHDA state chapters, MATRADE regional offices, and SME Corp. — run through hotel and convention facilities throughout the year. They are rarely heavily promoted nationally but often receive direct exhibitor invitations through trade associations, government agency networks, and chambers of commerce.

A Note on Booth Logistics
Most events on this calendar follow the same exhibitor setup pattern: an allocated lot size (typically 3x3m or 3x6m at trade shows, smaller at mall and hotel events), a setup window the day before or early morning of the first day, and shared or dedicated power. For details on how setup day actually works at the major venues, read the companion guide: How to Set Up a Trade Show Booth in Malaysia.
If you are planning your first exhibition, the Exhibition Booth Checklist for Malaysian SMEs covers everything from print production lead times to setup day packing lists.
Dates and venues are subject to change each year. Always verify with the official event organiser before confirming participation. This page is updated regularly. For display and exhibition booth solutions for any of the events above, browse the full HelloDisplay range at hellodisplay.shop.
